For starters, which size power wire are you running? This will decide whether you have to drill a new hole or not.

How did you find nothing maxima specific when this site is about MAXIMAS?

You can take that information and apply it to your car.

Since I'm feeling generous, you do not have to drill, you can run your 4 gauge through the grommet that the main wire harness uses. Pull off your drivers side front wheel, strip the wheel well liner and you will see the cluster. Run wire through grommet. Fish it through your kickpanel.

Personally, it's easier to drill.

Yeah, I'd suggest basically what djfrestyl said. When I had 4 AWG wire, I ran it through the hood release cable grommet, which is just below the main harness grommet:

You still have to take the wheel off and remove the wheel-well liner. It's time-consuming, but if you don't want to drill the hole, it's a clean way to do it.

The other option (assuming you have an auto) is to remove the perforated black piece next to the brake where the clutch cable would go through the firewall if you had a 6spd. Drill through there and you'll be clear of anything in the engine compartment by quite a bit. (This is what I did when I upgraded to 1/0 wire.)

Actually, you can see from my pics that you don't HAVE to take the wheel off, but from having been in there a few times, it definitely makes the job quicker and easier.

6spd makes it harder to drill, just gotta find another location.

I forgot to mention, good luck, and definitely post pics and thoughts when you're done.

just adding my 2cent, i sent my 4guage through the hood release, but fished it through the fender.. the wire came out right on the side of the battery, and i didnt have to take the tire off. but when i changed my system i had to drill a hole for the 0guage i was running.
