2003 Double Din LCD/Touchscreen
I'm almost positive this is a repost, but I searched for about an hour and came up empty handed, so I am going to apologize in advance.
I am going to start the process of putting a carPuter in my 2003 to replace the ****ty bose head unit (that doesn't even play cds now). Before you say anything I would go with one of the all in one units, but I think this will be a more interesting project.
I have most of the wiring and placement worked out in my head, my only struggle right now is the in dash lcd.
Does anyone have any experience mounting a touchscreen into their dash in a 5th gen? I was hoping to find a dash kit but I haven't found anything yet. I am okay with trying to fab something, but I'd rather not if anyone has any better ideas.
Thanks

one of the best set ups ive seen is relocating the climate controles to the cup holder. throw the screen in the lower half of the bose and climate controle area with a cd player in the upper third...this obv involves some custom work but alows you alotta room for your biggest peice the screen. it also keeps the dash loking stock. where r u putting the cpu?
ignore this post if your only tying to put in a screen.

I should have mentioned I am only trying to put in a screen.
The CPU is either going to go in my trunk or under the passenger seat, haven't quite decided that. Either way will work just depends on how much wiring i want to do.

BUMP! hey i have pioneer avh7500... this is for users with a pioneer tv, i just got headreat tvs, that DO work. i cant manage to get the rear tvs to play off the front source. yes the wiring is correct. i cant manage the tvs to use the front unit as its source for video. im worried it my be a fault output on my brain for the video cable. cuz if i plug video input as an xbox, itll only play on the rears <xbox> with sound being able to play through the units AV inputs for vcr. HEEEEEEEEELP! plus any suggestion shops that fix motorized tv's by pioneer? i know sound advice does fix the tv unit help me!

Oh jeebus another one...please read the stickies.
Striker, stay away from Jensen. Save your money for a quality unit. If you get a double din, you need the GXE dash kit which is about $80. If you get a flip out, you can get any Metra/Scosche/AI kit for a single din.

(Again at work)
Yea I am pretty serious about this - I am planning on doing this around the May time frame when it starts to get nice out. Right now I am doing the planning for what I want and how to set it up ect. I'm pretty sure that I can do the majority of the install, except molding in the screen. But hey, if you wanted to help, I wouldn't argue one bit!
I have been spending quite a bit of time over at www.mp3car.com checking out setups and hardware. Coming close to a final decision.
