Pheonix Gold RSD12

So i was reading my may issue of car audio mag. and they featured and tested the Pheonix Gold rsd12 subwoofer. in the article they raved how this was such a great subwoofer and what makes it better was its very affordable price at msrp of around $170. what impressed me was the score of an 86/100.
a 170dollar sub that plays better than most $500 subs. all songs that were tested impressed the judges.

i was wondering if anyone has experience with this sub?

PG = teh current high priced garbage.

Any product can test highly nowadays, it all depends on how much you want to pay for those numbers.

Arc or ID? There's alot of other very good sub manufacturers. For the price I still love pioneer subs for their low frequency extension though the next sub I'll be looking will probably be a 6x9 subwoofer. So far the best I've found is Tang Band.

Ecko's talking about the store cost, as he wants to have it in the store to sell. He's not purchasing it for his car.

lol. yes for the store.. i just picked up a autotek 12 "mean machine sub... this thing looks like a chromed out monster, people will eat it right up...lol...it actually bumps pretty well... just that sq sucks on it...+ it doesnt require a big box...

but if the pheonix gold is getting big numbers and i believe it got a 9/10 for rock and pop music, it should be a good buy for the store...170 msrp its pretty cheap even if the woofer played less than ok.,

So your willing to try to convince your boss to do a fairly large buyin on a has-been company to gain a few sales on entry level subs?

Also bearing in mind again, all numbers can be adjusted, like I said, depends how much money is at stake.

All in all looks like a rebadged Octane which flopped as well.

whats even more affordable is an RE12. that entry level sub from RE absolutely slams with only 150 watts.

"sounding good" is too opinionated...but a little money under the desk can change a lot of things.
