Adding circuits

I wanted to glean the advice of others and see what you all may have done in the past. I am adding a microvision, dvd, cd changer, and auxillary adapter that all require constant and ignition-on or switched (for lack of a better term) power sources.

I am going to run a fused lead directly from the battery to an auxillary fuse box under the dash to power the constant battery needs of the accessories.

I'm not sure how to best address the switched sources. I was thinking of using a switched lead from a blank in the fuse panel (I'm a GXE so there should be a few) to a barrier strip and tie off to the individual components from there. I would of course insulate the barrier strip to ensure it doesn't come in contact with anything else and ground/short.

Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

I had no problem wiring my DVD screen dvd player and cd changer off my 12v constant (yellow wire) on my head unit.

Why not wire em directly fused to the ignition harness, where youll have both constant and accessory, without running extra wires all the way into the engine bay?

They sell add on fuse panels, with constant and switched power leads on them, though they are a bit pricey.

Painless add on fuse blocks

Thanks for the feedback. I don't want to wire it into the lead for the stereo though. I've had issues doing that in the past.

Well I wanted a dedicated battery lead not only for these items but for additional electronics/ accessories in the future. I don't want to overload the ignition harness with the current draw of a bunch of accessories. I amy do that for the switched lead though. I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for the link. That looks like what I am trying to do. I may do a little more research on those painless products.
