Quick easy question ID V3.

I have read on several different sites that the Image Dynamic V3 10" sub handles 50-400watts... Then others say only 250watts rms...

Sounddomain says 50-400 as does ID website... But all others say 200-250rms..

So which is it? Friend is planning on amp b4 he gets the subs..

Just get one to cover all bases. One with 500 + rms(there's a very nice one in the FS section). This way even if he changes the sub he can always have the appropriate power. Plus you're most likely looking at 2 different versions of the sub. Link to the ones you're seeing then we can help you better.

I would not go over 600 watts rms total.

Maybe one site has an older model of the V3? If they're all the same I'd believe ID over a website it is afterall their product.

ID subs can generally take over their rated rms wattage. I'm running about 1400 watts to my 12" max and she just loves it, no cliping or distortion at all. (gains set and checked with an O'scope)

How do they do with less power? I have a Diamond D3400.4 that I'm going to run the Rainbows off 2 channels and was considering bridging the other 2 channels to an ID12v3. So it would get like 200 rms (unless D3 amps are underrated).

I believe this sub will be getting about 200rms due to the fact it's a dual 4 ohm. Gonna be wired 8ohm, on a 400x1 amp, so about 200watts so either way it will be fine for now.. Might sell him my RF amp, don wants $320 shipped for a diamond D3800.2... What do u guys think?

Yeah i know it sucks, but I have been told if your running only 1 4ohm dvc you can only wire 2 or 8ohm.. However if you bridge this amp wired 2ohm it goes to a 1ohm load and burns the amp.. I don't think you can only use one channel wired stereo on a 2 channel amp?? But hey it's not mine.. j/k

btw he's going to get another sub soon, so that will fix that prob.

They're pretty efficient subs. 200 will be fine. More is OK of course.
