Alpine Navi Ques

I have an ALpine deck with the navi input so.....

DO I really have to spend $1300 on this--\/

or is there a cheaper way?

Alpine only has 2 NAV options. The $1700 remote mount NVE-872A and the Blackbird. I'm not sure the Blackbird has a mounting cradle for deck input yet, but it is a much cheaper option. Also, keep in mind that if you don't buy it through an Authorized dealer (for online sales, Crutchfield is the ONLY one), you get no warranty. i.e. ebay=no warranty, despite what people will claim (for Alpine at least)

F-ing shame on Alpine for making add on Nav such an expensive option. Highway robbery IMO. Once you spend 1k on a HU/DVD/screen, it shouldn't take much more to make it go Nav. B@stards.....

Hence the reason I sell a ton of Eclipses and no Alpines.

Yeah I know. You know my love is for the processor and the processing only.... (wouldn't mind a IWA 200 though to compliment it)

F1 status is cool, but HU/Processor is waaaay overpriced and speakers are overpriced rebadged scanspeaks.

No shame in hating on Alpine the company. I HATE my DVA 9860. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

Hahahahaha I dont hate on em, theyre actually quite smart with their marketing strategies..lower quality, same price point. It ends up yielding them more money in the long run. Pretty good business sense there.

Lower quality than what though? (I assume you mean Eclipse) How does Alpine compare to Sony, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Panasonic, Blaupunkt, etc.?

Lower quality in general as compared to what they once were.
