Hey guys,

There is a local sale on this camera here and I can get it for like $150. I was just wondering if it is a good camera. Any accessories recommended? I was going to get the rechargeable batteries and charger. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

its an ok very basic camera...built in 2mb storage....good for ebay pics and such.

 

Would you say it's worth it or not? I'd be using it for pictures of my car for my website and here on the .org. That's pretty much it though.

i would actually look into some lower end 2.1 megapixel cameras such as fuji finepix 2300 and hp 315. If you can shop around and get a good deal on one of those, it would be well worth it. I actually found the fuji for $207 + shipping on pricewatch.com and it will be better simply because the picture will be a larger size and allow you to get higher quality. When you go to www.pricewatch.com simply search for fuji 2300 and you will find it.

Or you can go for that kodak dc3200, which is only 1.0 megapixel, which is a little on the low side IMO and pay $150 + tax which is $163. I would spend a little extra and get the better camera.

The HP 315 is also on sale (at Best Buy by the way). They have it on sale for $299.99. I'm thinking about getting the rechargeable batteries and charger as well SanDisk ImageMate USB Compact Flash Reader. This would give me a grand total of $378.38 (including tax).

I think that may be a little to rich for my blood...but what do you think?

Go for the fuji. For $207 that camera cannot be beat, even tho youre gettin it from the web i beleive you still get the manufacturers warranty. So that will be $207 for the cam, lets say $15 shipping, you can pick up a pack of AA rechargable batteries and charger for $22 from circuit city as well as a smart media reader card from the web for $30. So the total would be about $274 which is about a $100 less than hp for an identical quality camera..but its your money.....

You have the Kodak DC3400 don't you? I found that on the web for $295. I heard that that was a really good camera. Can you give me your comments/input/etc. on this camera, and I promise, I won't change my mind again!!

Ok, i had the dc280, which is basically an older version of dc3400 and it used to retail for $899
Great picture quality at 2.1 megapixel resolution, easy to use, good zoom (2.5x i beleive) and $300 is a really good price for that camera. Keep in mind that you will go over your "budget" if you get the kodak, but it's almost impossible to find a better camera for the price.

 

I have the Kodak DC3200. For the price, it's not a bad digicam. Of course, it doesn't look that great and it's only a 1.0 megapixel. Take a look a my profile for some sample pics taken with this camera. I always take it with the "best" setting. I also bought a 32mb memory add-on to the camera. If you take it with the best setting, you'll have to get a higher memory capacity. If you're on a budget, this is a nice digicam to get. If I had the money though, I would get a better one. This is my first digicam, so it will do for now.

 

You've been a big help. I think I'm gonna go for the Kodak DC3400. I never really had a "budget", I just really don't want to spend over $350-$400. I want to get something good and cheap because the camera I have now is horrible.

Thanks for your input. You're the only one I've talked to that actually had that camera, but like I said above, I'm gonna go for the DC3400 which is a little bit better for the money.
