Bye Bye Bose..

ahh its that time.. The bose is about to bite the dust. I jsut got a job over at best buy so i think its time for a new system..

First off i believe the speakers are 6.5 all the way around correct? would this be optimal when replacing them or could i move to something bigger? Ex. 6x8 or 6x9s. I think for the front im going to do Infinity Reference 6010cs. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1140392384331
I got a nice discount on those. Im still unsure as of what to use for the rear deck. The next step would be an amp to power them. Im assuming a 4 channel amp would be ideal?

We carry the Alpine MRP-F250 at BestBuy also. Its a 75wx4 amp with a peak of 185w.
Seems to be a good amp but let me know if not..(http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1134701297748)

Next comes a woofer and and another amp Im completely open on this but i would like to be able to get it from work for the discount We do carry the alpine type r. im on crutchfield now reading and it seems to be a great woofer. I only really want one 10 or 12 for weight and ease to remove purposes. Also carry the Infinity Ref 1250w http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1140392384210

So basically i want the infinity comp. for the front and then in open on the rear and the woofer. Please feel free to critize, suggest, and even flame me. lol i jsut want to get a crisp, loud with bass i can adjust. (GF doenst like it but i do when im alone ) BTW i had a Pioneer P7000 DVD player running a microvision 7 inch monitor. pretty sure that doesnt matter but hey might as well throw it in.

Thanks All

Sean

A grand can take you much farther than you'd think, I wish i'd known that a year ago when I did a Best Buy system....which i'm now replacing. If you install yourself, that'll knock off a majority right there. I'll ofcourse go with the stereotypical Rainbow response, but from what i've heard here(and what I hope to soon hear myself), that is without a doubt, the way to go.

And stay rounded speakers, the 6.5"s are good. As I think Don put it in one thread, "When was the last time you went to a theatre and saw oval shaped speakers?", or something like that.

Bass, not my category, so can't help you out there, i'd just lead you to my system if you weren't doing bass, there's a good deal for like 2 more days through Crutchfield on a Phoenix Gold Amp(78x4@4 w/ Amp Kit and WARRANTY for $380).

Hope I helped some....?

500 is really gonna change things then, but the general consensus here is that Rainbows are the best bang for your buck.

yeah i have infinity's, and rainbows. can you guess which i think are better?

the amp should be an okay choice, and the infinity's shoudl only really be considered for your rear fill. but in all honesty, id save that money and put it towards your sub and amp, replace your rears later, when you get bored again.

So guys give me a breakdown of what a fairly decent setup would be. I was pretty happy with my bose with my pioneer deck and 7" monitor

Its not going to be a competition system or a moving boom boom room haha i just would like some crisper sound over the bose and a little more umph! So a basic list of what you all would recommend would be perfect! if not then i guess ill keep looking around and see waht i can find. thanks again guys

Spend the extra money and do it one time, it ends up being cheaper in the long run. Even if you have to slowly piece it together over a slightly longer amount of time the money and frustrtion saved will be well worth it.

Remember you work at Best Buy, not best product. What you find in there is your general run off the mill stuff to please the masses. Given that every age group from 16-65 shops there should tell you something. Also bearing in mind whens the last time any reputable shop/company had refridgerators next to car stereos?

You guys just picked up the Infinity accomodation that we (CC) have had for a while now. Still wouldnt run anything from them, even at the accomodation price.

Sean05:
Front: SLC265's
Rear: SL165's (assuming you want to run rears)
Amp: Arc KAR600.4, Ch1+2-mids and highs, Ch3+4-sub
Sub: Arc KAR 12S4

Do it!
