ohio generator ALT blowin 5 months???

Yo i bought an ohio generator High performance ALT and it blew out in 5 months?? WTF i had a rebuilt ALT and it lasted me 2 years lol . Anyways i have 4 6.5 coaxil speakers, 2 6x9 speakers, 2 12" L7 speakers , 4 tvs, tv tuner , a capacitor,4 channel amp,2 channel amp, another 2 channel amp, an alarm and also 2002 hids oem lights put into a 2001 max. Now why would thus happen ? im baffled ? like i said a rebuilt alt lasted 2 years with this setup, dont make sense 2 me

Yo yo yo, I don't know yo. But I would think that there is some kind of warranty involved there unless you purchased the alt used.

Holy redundant amount of audio equipment!

You have (3) 2 channel amps?
6 drivers? 2 of which are 6x9?
a capacitor?
4!? tv's?

As far as the alternator is concerned, I agree with nismos, hit up that warranty.

But as far as your system, damn, consolidate to 1 or 2 larger amps, ditch the cap, ditch the 6x9's.

yea dudes and thanks 4 helping i got a warranty but i still got to be without my car for a week and lots of hassle getting to work etc, also got pay labor for someone to change alt for me cause im horrible with stuff like that! lol anyways no i got a 4 channel for the interiors, 2 channel for the 6x9's and another 2 channel for the subs and yes a cap. and i got an optima yellow top also forgot that. but my question is even though this might be alot of stuff why would a 180 amp hig perm alt blow so fast? a rebuilt 1 last 2 years with all that crap? any logical answer besides its defective? i thought a high perm alt was built to handle systems with alot of stuff competition like hookups etc???

I'd attribute fault to it being defective too.

PLEASE ditch the 6x9's and the corresponding amp, and the cap, and just upgrade your wiring.

i went through 8 can am alternators, it may be due to an open rotor. under high rpm in our cars a high output alt isnt meant to spin that fast, causing the rotor to come apart from centrifigual force. i had to have my rotor tack welded and west system epoxied. great customer service from can-am but 6 months of downtime with my car was an unexpected occurance. whats the amperage of all your amps put together? i have 2600 watts (roughly) and a 215amp alt

Definitely the former, perhaps the latter.

Where do you have the 6x9's anyway?

they arent meant for high rpm applications, do u floor it alot, drive agressively or at a track. this is defiently shorten the life of the high output unless the connections are epoxied and tack welded. i blew through 8 of these alternators before the company finally realized what needed to be done to keep it from blowing apart, so it may be a suggestion to make to ohio gen. get rid of the cap as well

Yes Please ditch the 6X9s. Sound will improve and it will free up some current that is being wasted.

What amps are these anyway?

Ok i got an (o2)1800 watt 2 channel amp pushing the kicker L7's , i got a (cliff design)1600 watt4 channel amp pushing the 4 interior pioneer coxails and an (o2) 600 watt 2 channel pushing the pioneer 6x9's. Now i realize i might not have the best set up or equipment but still makes no sense to blow a high perm alt in 5 months and i dont blast music much.especially when i had a rebuilt alt last me like 2 year with basically the same equipment.
