Review Audiokraftwerk KW 4150 + KW 4V8: In this complete version we tested the KW 4150, because the two units together make for a truly great team. While the amplifier concentrated only on the amplification of the signals, the preamplifier box managed everything else - and that is a lot ... In terms of control comfort and equipment virtually no wish is left unfulfilled! The excellent signal-to-noise ratio of 97 dB is beneficial in that all the filters are external and thereby do not load the signal path of the amplifier ... With 56 amps maximum-current input in the 2-ohm-modus und a hefty efficiency of 70.9 percent during maximum power, the amplifier earned itself great praise ... In the listening test, the Rainbow amplifier showed itself to be sound-wise as well at a healthy level. In the bass range the four-channeller made taut and voluminous music beautifully, without laying it on too thick, however ... Result: The equipment and, above all, the practical control concept of the KW 4150 sets are outstanding. An interesting package of amplifier and preamplifier!
Very nice! |
How much do they run for? I need a amp for my sub soon.
|
go ahead and send two over here. :D

They couldve, but you said nope...
|
They don't...4150 looks different than the 2kw
|
ok, lemme explain..
"couldve" means Could Have. If you just used 2 4150s. |
Ah well, I'll just wait for the other beauties :D :D
|
Im glad you are. While Manny and I thought this was going to be a Great surprise, My attempt apparently failed. Its all good.
BTW...two weeks on those, but thats just todays word. |
I appreciate the effort, kind sir.
No problems, I'm patient. |
not too fond of the red Kreftwerk on the top. :slant:
|
Me niether, but eh I can deal with cosmetics. Although I do like the top mounted controls..
|
yeah, top mount controls are nice. it was a b*tch tuning my two arcs the way i have the amps mounted.
|
Im lovin mine now, so easy to adjust. :)
|
might be a dumb question... but with the seperate pre-amp, it has gain controls, so does this mean the main amp has a fixed input or is there a gain there as well, and with remote pre amp the one on the amp isn't used?
|
oh, wasn't aware the pics were on the site.
yeah i love the way the controls are mounted on the front face too, best feature. |
Don, gonna swap some SE's for these? :p
Hmm maybe I should sell my xxk and get a 4150+controller.......... eh... |
Sounds appealing and they look sexy but I think I will stick with my xxk's unless they are just as efficient and something special happens to land them in my trunk!:chuckle:

Guess I'll post my initial thoughts here as well.
The amps are much better looking in person IMO. Of the two, I like the monoblock better. It just feels much more solid than the 4 channel (not to mention it was a pain removing the 4 channel's cover to show the internals). The top mount controls on the monoblock is a nice touch. So, overall, I'm quite pleased on how they look and feel. Now to hook these suckers up... :D |
nice pics
