I'll humor you....since the only thing that is ever in my trunk is my track wheels

Also, please don't flame me just because I decided to go with this HU instead of an Eclipse

Thanks for the pics all!!

I really wanted to see what other people are doing. I just got my max on Wednesday and I am already despising the bose system to the fullest. I am trying to make the decision between double din HU, Monitor in dash, DVD, Single DIN DVD w/monitor din, etc.....

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, I have always had systems in my cars but never owned a car with a double DIN so I dont know what to do. I have subs, components, amps, etc.. just no head unit. So perplexity is the name of the game and this is a tough decision b/c I love the stock look and the ability to use the steering wheel controls. Maybe some suggestions/feedback on what to do. I have an 03max w/bose. Thanks all.

I love Manny's HU. It looks like those '70's receivers without the fake wood case.

So should we start the, "Show us your Front Stage" thread.

Hey 1996blackmax, I see that your gonna be rollin with the CD7000 soon. Curious about the change. Did the 9835 take a turd on you, or did you get the craving for an Eclipse again?

Cheers on your new HU. After my initial wavering, I've come to like my 7000 very much.

Looking forward to your install pic too (I'm dying to see if they are supposed to stick out that far on a 4th Gen or if it's just my install)

The CDA-9835 is working out fine. It is a nice HU, I do like it. The thing is that I really like Eclipse HU's and wanted to try out the CD7000. It seems they have fixed the couple little things that I did not like with the CD8455 with this model (inability to adjust the subwoofer volume in Pro-Mode easily, and the method of changing tracks with the overly sensitive wheel), so I will give it a shot.

I know it will stick out more than my other Eclipse units from the pictures I have seen. I do not think it is your install as it is a pretty straight forward thing. I may give drilling new holes a little further back on the mounting bracket a shot. Just to try to push it back just a tad. Hopefully after doing this I will have no issues with clearance when opening the face. Even if that does not work out, that will not really be an issue for me .

I really like the sound that the Eclipse units produce. The Alpine HU I had was nice, but not as nice as this one (I think this HU sounds better, and has better tuning features). I think the CD7000 is easier to use than my previous Eclipse HU's. Being able to adjust the subwoofer volume is a big plus (not an option if you used the pro-modes on the other untis). No more rotary wheel to change tracks, that is a good thing in my book. With the CD8455 the wheel was way too sensitive. I really like the custom button. This comes in very handy. I have it set to the EQ settings. Inside the car, I only have the front speakers on when I am alone. When the family is in the car I have the rear speakers turned on. Since I have these settings memorized in my EQ presets, I can do this very easily and quickly.
