out of 1/2" birch. this stuff is pretty damn strong. it's wee bit expensive too. went to lowes and bought a 4' x 4' sheet of it, and it was like 30 bucks (compared to the 22 dollars for a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4" mdf). the guy wanted it to be as light as possible, hence the reason to go with birch.

it's 1.3 cu ft, without port displacement, tuned to 35 hz. a 10" ascendant audio arsenal will go in it eventually.

That would look very classy just stained (could clear coat it, or whatever they call it for wood-veneer?).

i could...but...

total outer surface area of the box is 1692 sq inches. now, a regular stamp is roughly 1 sq inch. that means i will need around 1692 stamps to cover the outside of the box. now, each stamp is 39 cents. so...1692 stamps would cost me $659.88...unless you paypal me this amount, i ain't covering sh*t

Thank you for not putting the port between the woofers. Now you'll enjoy the added dB benefits of mutual coupling. Those HE10's should slam!

Gordon, I find it funny that you call those "crap" boxes. Those are better than some that I've seen installed in some cars. I'd be happy to sport either of those. Oh on staining #1
