radio removal

hey guys. I have a pioneer headunit that was installed for me awhile back that Im gonna replace with some new hardware. Is the removal for aftermarket units the same as the stock?

A dumb question but I want to make sure before I start removing all the screws, clips, and peices to the dash. Thanks.

Depends what dash kit was used. If its an aftermarket one like Metra or American International, the radio will slide out of the cage its in, and you wont have to remove any of the dash. If its Scosche or the factory GXE kit, itll be the same process as removing the stock radio.

There's no GXE kit for a 4th g.

The process is the same as the OEM, just leave in the extra din space that was put in and put the new unit where the old one was.
