92 maxima, new HU

Hey guys, no search function so I have to post this. I have a 92 maxima, I have a new head unit for it. I tried to wire it up tonight (after having it for like 2 years, haha, longest procrastination ever) and I got it all powered up and everything, but no sound. Now, I only have one speaker that still works from the stock system (and it's hooked up to the bose amplifier) and it works with the stock head unit, but not with the new one. I thought I could at least get some sound out of the speaker, even though the bose amp is there (I know you're not supposed to do it, it was just a test.)

I need help to figure out how to re-wire the whole car's audio system I suppose. I really have no clue what I'm doing (obviously.)

Any advice is appreciated. This is what I'm thinking - buy some speaker wire or whatever it is I need, and instead of wiring the speaker parts to the harness, just hardwire them across the car to the speakers? This will require new speakers I'm sure, but can I still at least use the amps as brackets for the new speakers?

The stock speaker wire runs from the dash behind the radio to each individual amp at each speaker. Once your radio is wired up like a normal radio, (might wanna write down the wiring colors before you reinstall it) take the speaker wire at each amp, extend it a couple inches, and wire it directly to your new speakers instead of having it pass through the Bose amp.

update, I fixed it, it turned out I was using the wrong wires... so, tonight I wired the rear speakers the same way I did the front, and I went to listen... no sound. I thought I might have blown the head unit's fuse, so I replaced it, still no sound. I'm stumped.

Anyone? I'm getting really sick of having no music, and I cannot figure out what the problem is... it worked one minute, and wouldn't the next, and no matter what I do, it still won't work.

I've narrowed it down to be the head unit.. something inside blew I guess, because theres not even any signal coming from any of the speaker wires...I'm taking it apart right now to see if theres maybe an internal fuse somewhere. The small 10 amp fuse on the back wasn't blown, but I replaced it anyway - obviously didn't fix the problem.
