4 channel amp wiring

Hi, i know this is a noob question but i am still consider myself as a noob so i should ask :)

How do u run ur 4 speaker wires to the amp?? from the headunit? or directly from the speakers?

please advise, thanks!

wires from speakers go to amp.
run rca's from headunit to amp.

skyjay617 10-19-2006 09:30 AM

so u run the speaker wires thru the firewall?

AscendantMax 10-19-2006 09:32 AM

no, unless your amp is in the engine bay...

most people have their amps in their trunks. then you simply run speaker wires from the amp into your cabin...and finally to your speakers.

skyjay617 10-19-2006 09:41 AM

u meant run under ur door step panels?

AscendantMax 10-19-2006 09:42 AM

yeah...

for mine...i have wires from the trunk going under the rear seat cushion...and down each side of the car. then i took off the door sills and ran the wire under the carpet.

I ran speaker wire thru the firewall because I mounted my cap next to the battery??? Should I change that?

Why do you need speaker wire for your cap?

So you basically disconnect the stock speaker wires in the doors and run new wires to the amp?

You can do that, but if you look on maxima.theowensfamily.com you can see the wire colors for the stock bose amp, and just use ur new amp, and tap into the speaker wire that is already in place.
