kappa v. reference
kappa v. reference
i am replacing my speakers and was looking specifically at components for the front because of the bose tweeters. i was looking at the infinity lineup and was wondering how much difference there really is in sound quality between the kappas and references. their numbers are very similar so i'm sure its a sound quality thing, but i was trying to figure out if it was worth the extra $ or not. are the references still good speakers? because i'm not too picky and i'm pretty sure either with an amp will make a big improvement. just wanted some other opinions. thanks
I perfer the Reference series over the Kappas because of the silk dome tweeter that the Reference series uses. I'd go for something above Infinity like CDT. You can get the CDT CL6.1 components (6-1/2" set) purdy cheap and they sound REALLY nice.
the kappas i heard in my friends car installed in the kicks via speaker pods sounded pretty nice. the tweeters were in the a-pillars aimed a little off axis...and the soundstage was fairly high. imo they're not bad, but install is once again key...
