Eclipse Cd8445 problems

Has anyone incountered a problem when the unit just shuts off when in use, then doesnt turn on for a couple hours. Then when u start ur car after a couple hours it enables the security that is disabled and it resets everything. This has happened to me twice. Ive checked my wiring over yesterday and it is fine. The fuse is fine. All wires are snug at the crimp. Ahh it pisses me off Egay Eclipse FTL.

Thats rough, no warranty for you eh?

Sounds like a problem with the wiring internally of the unit or in the harness somewhere. Maybe try carefully tracing everything back in the harness..... Good luck.

I think i am going to have to say goodbye to it. But now the dam Bose headunit screws arent coming out from the metal rack thing.(they've been in there for 10 years hmmm...) I dont know where to start with the problem bc i put my old eclipse hu in and it works fine. Funny thing is, this is the only car audio part i bought from ebay.

Why not contact Eclipse to see how much they might charge you?

But you wouldnt be out of your money, also depending on the dealer, it IS possible to do expedited exchanges...no downtime at all.

I agree with Don. he is only saying it for your benefit because he has to..he sees people do this all the time and because of his passion for car audio he feels your pain. Pick up a nice pioneer 880 from him.

the only time the headunit would ask you for a security code is when it loses power. If you used Crimps i would suggest you check your crimps on the + 12v constant and the +12v switched as well as the ground which are all things that could initiate this problem. If that doesnt solve it i had a dodge plymouth harness that i got where it would just shut off for no reason while driving and sometimes not work for days at a time, it turned out to be the pins on the car harness harness were having trouble making contact from the car harness to the aftermarket harness. Just some suggestions you should try before blaming it on the radio.
