new setup... which speakers?

Alright so i am planning on redoing all of my audio at one time to avoid having to worry about adapters for my hu and everything. i am going to buy a 4ch amp ..maybe the infinity reference amp (depending on what you guys recommend) and put some components in front for the front soundstage and most likely an assasin 8" in the back deck where the blose sub was. i would bridge the sub to the rear channels and then just put some cheaper 5.25's in the rear door powered off the hu for when passengers are in the back or whatever..

now my question is what speakers should i go with for components in the front? and which cheaper speakers for the rear to just run off the hu amp?

as you can see this system will be lower end as far as price goesand i hope to keep it that way . i want to do this right, which is why i am asking, but i just cant afford to spend a ton on my components. i was thinking about infinity reference comps because of their attractive price, but wanted to know what else is out there- ive looked around quite a bit but havent really seen anything that could compare pricewise. and in the back i am really looking to spend next to nothing on these speakers, but because they will only technicaly have to be rated for like 25 rms or so are there any standout 5.25 coaxials for under $100 out there? just need some opinions- these are not as important to me because the majority of the time they will likely be turned off anyway, but i do want some quality, just that wattage rating is not important.

oh and one last thing.. i have been reading up on amp wiring and all this stuff the past couple weeks and was thinking about th rears powered off the hu- since th hu is 4 channel and i am only using 2 of them can hu's be bridged like 2 or 4 channel amps? or would it most likely fry the amp? just wondering
thanks

hmmm..well i would say somthing like 500-600 for the speakers and amp- including the sub- and for this reason i have decided to just do the fronts and amp and 8in sub for now so i can get some decent ones. and when i say 500-600 i'm talking more retail prices because i hope to find some deals to keep it quite a bit below this- hopefully. so the components ive been looking at are mostly in the 200-300 retail and ones i can find for normally under 150. i'm pretty settled on the assasin 8" that people have been talking about too..

i know stuff in this price range is far less exciting for you guys than the top of the line stuff that gets talked about on here, but i could use some suggestions. i'm no audiophile but i'd say sound quality carries a bit more importance than volume for me if that makes a difference.

thanks

Hmm first off don't buy retail or from on-line retailers. I think a Kar 400.4 + slc 265 + the assassin sub would fall right into your price range. PM pearl96max and wait for a response, he can get you the kar 400.4 + slc 265's and you know where to get the assassin.

Don't worry about the price range man, you can still pull off good clean sound with the price range you're in. We all talk about big time stuff, but most of us can't really afford to get the dream system we really want.

Seriously though, if you wanna do it right, and not have to worry about it again, save up a bit more get into the 700 dollar range and you can get all the things I listed plus all installation materials.

On-line retailers 9/10 times are not authorized dealers and their warranties are not through the manufacturer. The Kar 400.4 is a good budget minded amp, Don pearl96max will have the best prices you can find on all of the equipment I listed.

alright thanks! theres this one site.. 'sonic electronics' or something like that who say that the warranty is not manufaturer but offer a 1 year warranty through the company itself. they claim to cover everything..but is this still a bad deal?

alright thanks! i was looking at that amp a little more and i noticed that it doenst have any pre-amp outs. depending on the hu i buy i might only have 2, and i really want to have the ability to expand in the future to 4 channels and then a sub amp behind that. are there any other amps you'd recommend that have the pre-outs? if the arc is a cut above the rest then i'd say screw it but if theres anything comparable i'd like to know about it beforehand. thanks

I thought you were gonna use the 4 channel on the comps and sub? For the rear you can just run it off the HU.

right, thats the plan- go comps up front and bridge the rear for the sub, but i just like having the possiblilty to expand in the future with minimal things to buy- this isnt exactly a deciding factor, but its something i would prefer to have if possible thats all. but yeah for now with the stuff ive been talking about i was plannign on powering rears off the hu.. really just planning for the future

hmm.. With the arc you should have the ability to input only one pair of rca's and use the other one on the other amp in the future. Pearl96max/Djfrestyl would know better as they have both played with the Kar amps, aI know dj had it in his vehicle for a while.
