Skip the middle man and buy from the factory that builds Eclipse. The TC-3000 12" should would great with 1000w. Plus it just looks cool.

What makes the TC or the Arc subs better than the eclipse? They have been suggested but no one has said why.

To expand on what AscendantMax said. Eclipse doesn't build their own subs. They contract that out to TC Sounds. Always have. Then TC sells thousands of subs to Eclipse making a profit on building them. Eclipse sells them to their wholesalers and makes a profit. Wholesalers sell them to retailers making a profit. Finally, the retailer sells them to you making a profit. Four people made money on the Eclipse sub and it all came out of your pocket. Buy it directly from TC Sounds and only one company makes a profit. Granted instead of $20 per sub, they are probably making $50 to $100 per sub. Selling single items to individuals costs much more than selling a batch of 1,000 to Eclipse. But you are getting more for your money. Thilo and now Deon Bearden are using the company branded subs as their flagship models.

If you are still unsure about TC Sounds, research how much people like the subs they have built in the past. Elemental Designs flat cone series, Soundsplinter, SV Sound (they recently brought their driver manufacturing in-house with an ex TC Sounds engineer), Aerial Acoustics ($$$$$$), etc.

Now to get out of TC fanboy mode, there are a few other companies to look at.

Fi Car Audio. They are a recent start up founded by Scott Atwell. Who? The guy who started FRC Soundworks that turned into Destijl Engineering. They built the older Adire Brahma, Ascendant Audio Avalanche and Atlas, ED subs with the blue logo and many others. The owner of US Amps bought out Resonant Engineering so he decided to start another retail brand.

Exodus Audio. They are sold at Acoustic Visions and DIY Cables. They use XBL^2 technology from Adire and are built at Adire's factory.

Adire Audio. Dan finally has his companies problems straightened out and brought manufacturing back to the US. With the expanded line-up, there's a sub for everyone.

Ascendant Audio. Chad still makes great subs. Look for older stock on Ebay. They just sold their last eight Atlas 12" for under $100 shipped.
