New Components
New Components
My factory 02 driver side door speaker has popped. I was all set to get the
Polk Audio db6500 but now the shop that's doing my install suggested the
Diamond Hex Components (S600). Does anyone have these in their Max? How do you like them?

the HEX's are very nice comps.
crisp, clean, and warm sound, and very comparable to the Rainbow SLC components which many will recomend on here... and right around the same price.
the HEX's will be better than the Polks, def... I'd let them put them in instead.. or get some rainbows. either way you'll be happy

I've never heard the Polk so cant comment, the Hex's havea unique sound. Soild midbass, nice midrange and a uppity tweet. I think they're a little more aggressive than the Rainbows but not by much. No1 can tell you what will sound good to your hears, best bet is to go around and listen to difference soundboards and see what you like.

yea ive heard you say this before about the new HEX's don... breaks my heart
I bought the Polk DB6500's from Crutchfield when they had a buy one pair - get another pair for $100 sale. While they were clean, flat and articulate, they lacked the bass response needed for a system (like mine) without a sub-woofer. I was very dissapointed, and put my old factory speakers back in.
