Gain question

My HU has an 8V preout and my 2-channel amp does 50 watts RMS per channel. Approximately, should far should the gain be turned up? I don't have a DMM or oscilloscope. Thanks

It's 98 dB. I tried turning the gain up all the way and it sounds crappy haha.

The gain should be VERY low with an 8v preout. What amp is it?

I don't like the Eclipse CD5000 though Parag. I think it's too much HU for a pair of coaxials and a small amp, and plus the fact that the unit has to open down to eject the CD is really annoying. I'd much rather have one where you could just slide the CD in. Would you recommend the Nak CD300 or the Eclipse CD2000as the better entry level unit?

Nak definately. Man you're picky when it comes to your audio. Coaxials and amp? No comps?

Yeah I'm not gonna have my car much longer so I dont' want to break the bank. I'll get a nice set up in my next car. My coaxials sound really good anyway--I have a pair of 6.5" Diamond Audios. You know what the pre-out voltage is in the Nak Cd300?
