Ported sealed or bandpass?

Its hard to keep up with everyones setup so select which of the following you have

Ported
Sealed
Bandpass

And post a pic of the box if you wish!

Nope, picked that one up from a buddy. Not tuned right for the SP12, but tuned PERFECTLY for my HX2. Well I actually did the tuning with the port, but the internal volume was too much for the SP12, but just right for the HX2.

and you wonder why it doesnt sound 'right' ? Ported/vented enclosures are not nearly as forgiving as sealed...

bastard. .75 for me. 1" birch must be solid, yet still lighter than 3/4 mdf.

Have you posted a pic of your "new" box? I don't think I've seen it. I know you got it custom built.

Yes it was boomy. The box was 1.88 after sub and port displacement and tuned to 30 hz. I have box coming that is built to spec, and if the dls doesn't sound good in that I'll be pissed lol. I'm aware of that Don! But I figured it would be a little more forgiving, at least I have the perfect sized/tuned enclosure for my HX2

just work one panal at a time. put the carpet on a big table. then spray glue on both the carpet and box. remember to have some overlap on the sides. wait a few seconds for the glue to get tacky...then roll the box onto the carpet. the weight of the box will help with the adhesion. then keep spraying and rolling until the entire box is covered. then take the over lap and fold like a letter...then take a SHARP razor and cut diagonally from one corner to the other. you basically cut an "X" on the side. the excess carpet will come off leaving you with 4 flaps that will meet in the middle.

then just cut out the sub hole and what not with a razor.

use tacky spray glue. make sure you read the directions on how to use the glue properly before you start. otherwise the carpet'll fall off.. Done properly, you wont need to use 1 staple.

the glue i used, i had to wait till it was completely dry on both sides, then it would stick. if it was wet still, it wouldnt work, not sure if this is how it is with all the spray glues

but it holds very well.
