15'' subs

I was just wondering how many people had 15's in their trunk and how yall feel about'em. Had any problems with them? I have 2 audiobahn 15's and love it.

15's are pretty heavy IMO. Unless you have really high quality 15's... 2 12's will prob beat them anyday. If you're going for clarity, 3 10's will out do 2 12's or 2 15's. But glad you like them.

2 15"s will be pretty power hungry, as well.

BTW- moving this to the Audio subforum.

what? how can 3 10s be of better quality than 2 12s just by default?

theres wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too many variables to just claim this.

15's own all...one 15 is all you need. I have run 2 different 15's in my trunk and I thoroughly enjoy both setups. Ive had 2 10's, 2 12's, then another set of 10's, and 2 different 15's.

Funny how I can make a 39lb 15" subwoofer sound tighter than 2 10" woofers...it is all in box design and subwoofer design.

1-15>*

I've owned or heard almost everything. It's all in the type of sub and the type of box (mainly the box).

very commen misconception that smaller woofers are more acurate than larger. it is 100% depended on the quality of the woofer, the realistate (ie the total cone serface area), power suplied to the woofer, box build, and install. you "can" make 2 8's sound better and louder than a 15. or you could make a 15 sound better than 4 12's all depends.

yeah, didn't you know that this applies to tv's as well? smaller tv's are clearer...when the tv gets too big (over 60"), the plasma will react slower due to increased molecular mass...

You are really correct with your statement. A high quality, large HDTV will show more of the defects in the video signal than a smaller TV will. For example, I can watch standard definition DirecTV on my 55" HDTV. It's an OK picture. Watching it on my 103" projection system is just too painful. I can see compression artifacts all over the screen. I only watch high def or DVD on that system.
