Simple Qs for the noob upgrading...

Alright, I am looking to do some things audio wise to my car. They are upgrade the wiring, and wire my PSP in to the audio, and eventually, get an amp for my 6.5"s. So, I have some questions about this first.

1. Can I use normal, indoor copper speaker wire in my max? I am handy with electronics(circuitry, soldering, etc...), but not with car audio. I would assume so, but I am not sure if car wire has some special feature to it or not.

2. Does anyone have a wiring diagram to the Clarion Cbus input? I bought a Cbus-Aux adapter, but the pins are not configured right, as I only get sound out of the right speakers.

3. Finally, What kind of amp should I get to power my 6.5" pioneers. What type of amp(2channel, 4 channel), what setup should I power them(fronts on 1, rears on another?) and depending on the number of channels, how would I figure the necessary Amps?

Thanks for the help in advance. Audio Noob!!

1) yeah you can go ahead and use them. just make sure they're sufficient in size...ie something like 16 gauge will be fine.

2) not sure, but someone will chime in for that.

3) a 2 channel is fine if you want to amp your 6.5s. i have a 2 channel amp to power my front speakers, and just left the rears powered off the head unit. you can get a 4 channel if you want, but to me and a lot of people would agree with me...is that front stage is a lot more important than rear fills.

Wire: Alright, thank you very much for your response! I have about 30 ft of roughly 12 G copper wire.

Amps: Ok, that makes sense. If I do decide to power all fours, would it be better to get 2 2channel amps or just 1 4channel?

Thanks again!

much easier to get just a single 4 channel amp.

however, most on here are going to recomend just saving the money, and getting a somewhat powerful/cleaner 2 channel for just your fronts, and forget about the rears.

What is kind of odd about me, is I like more of my sound to come from the rears. Not sure why, but I have my balance set up to favor 2 out of 8 'ticks' to the rears. I just think it sounds better that way. Ill think about it. Thanks for the help on the amps.

Now, about wiring, what would be the best method? Ive got some wire that I want to use, should I just tie the existing onto the end and pull it through(It seems like that totally would fail)?

Help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
