i-pod hook up for an alpine

i just bought this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138087488737 for my alpine headunit...i am using it for my ipod, it also charge it what is a nice feature...all i had to do was hook it up to a positive (+) and a negative (-)...but when the ipod is in i get an engine wine...can anybody help me out??

Which Alpine Head Unit do you have?
I have the 9853 which needs the KCI-420 Unit to control the Ipod.
Maybe you should find a unit that made by Alpine specifically...

I have an IVA-W200 that uses the KCE-422i and it is amazing. Well, mostly.

Most, if not all, recent Alpine decks can use the 422 or 420 to control the ipod and they're ALOT better than 3rd party solutions. Maybe you have and older deck that doesn't have ipod support?

That KCI-420 is nice...especally for that awsome deal you got.
