good idea or no?

i don't have a lot of room in my maxima for 2 12" CVRs. so i was wondering if this unique idea would work. can i put one sub in the spare tire well and one in a ported box in the trunk? or will the one in the spare tire well cause complications?

Would it work? Yeah. Would it sound good, with one being sealed and the other being ported? Probably not so much.

Not a good idea, if space is a concern just go with one ported.

if any of you have fit 2 12" CVRs in your 4th gen, what dimensions did you use? and what type of box?

Is it going to help you if someone fit them in a box that took up the entire trunk?

You need to do some research on box's and find out on-line about the dimensions that will best suit your needs. There's plenty of sources to use on-line and they will all get you the information you need.

You can easily go with two CVRs ported if you want to sacrifice the room, there are several good premade designs here: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137804

You can also have someone design a box specifically for your car and subs for an average small fee of ~ten bones. Just register over there and search

Go for around 4-4.5 cubes tuned in the 30-35 hz area for a good mix of the higher bass and low lows. BTW the biggest I ever fit in a 4th gen was about 36 wide, 26 deep, and 14 high while being well below the torsion bars and still being able to remove the box fairly easy. I also had around 6 inches of clearence between the trunk and the front of the box, good luck
