Best set of speakers for price...

My dad is looking for the best set of speakers for his 2000 F-350 crew cab for $200 a set including shipping. They are 6 x 8's and he will be pushing them w/ an external amp(don't know which one yet, ~500w).

I already put 2 old skool Orion 12's(single 4ohm) pushed by a 1000w 4ch amp, 2ch's bridged to each sub. Pioneer Premier 7600(IIRC) headunit.

He has the money in hand, I just need to find out what the best I can get for the money. He listens to some country and some classic rock, but he lets me borrow it and I like hard rock and some rap.

Any suggestions???

230 shipped will get you a set of Rainbow component 6.5s, which are better than 6x8's honestly. could grab those and a set of spacer rings and he'd be all set.

the SLCs are the best components you can buy for this price range, IMO. They stomp all over Type R, MB Quarts and Bostons.

Yeah, I know, but he really didn't want to go to $200, I basically told him he had to to get anything worthwhile for what we want to do. He was around the $125 range, so atleast I got him that far...

How much/where are the cheapest adapter rings found???
