While I do like it, the cost to performance ratio steers me away. After putting on some options the price jumps into the mid 50s and still needs more ***** for me to drive.

Im trying to stay somewhat below the 50K mark.

I second the Sequoia. The Pilot, though not much to look at, is really nice. Head and shoulders above the Pathfinder (we drove both quite a bit before deciding on the Pilot).

Had we had the money, we would have gone Sequoia or GX460/Land Cruiser.

Usually, I agree with you, but I will put my truck against any "jap" SUV/truck you want. I have had one issue with my truck since 04'. The light third break light was leaking, they replaced it, no questions asked. Basically 3yrs, absolutely trouble free.

That sucks.

But my wife and I have had the exact opposite experience with our Pathfinder after 2+ years and 30,000 miles (loaded 2005 LE). It has been great, the ONLY problem we have had was the windhield washer fluid reservior breaking, that's it. And I'm not sure why some people say the Armada has a better interior, I've been in both numerous times (two different members of my family have an Armada) and they look/feel the same to me.

It will come down to personal preference though. Before we bought the Pathfinder, we test drove just about every SUV you can think of (including LR3, Toureg, Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, 4 Runner, Expedition, etc.) My wife liked the Pathfinder the best, so that is what we bought.

ok. i vote:

Infinity FX35
Nissan Murano
Acura MDX
Chevy Tahoe of some sort
Trailblazer SS is a nice choice as well, id love to see what you'd do to that

and everyone that says american cars arent reliable are kinda full of poo, they can be just as reliable as jap cars nowadays if maintained properly. If it was the mid 90's, id completely agree with y'all however.

Don i will talk to my brother in law again, see if he's still looking for a G. Last i talked to you, shortly after he lost his job and needless to say wasn't car hunting as much, but he has since found a job and may be looking again.

a lot of people have been saying the FX....it's too bad cause that would've been the perfect suv if it wasn't so damn small! don might as well keep the G if he gets the FX.

I wish. I just bought my moms 00 SE from her. (significantly less than its worth) Unless you're giving your car to me for about a third of its value, its out of my budget. She got an IS250, black on gray, 6spd auto with paddleshift. I drove it a few days after she got it...she was in the car of course, so it was slow driving, but still an amazing car.

exactly the same experience here. Picked a 2006 Pilot over a 2006 Pathfinder.

Or just get a Trailblazer SS.
