Crossover locations

Hey guys, correct my if I'm wrong, but wouldn't placing my crossovers close to the amp and running the independent tweeter/woofer wires for the distance create less resistance and better sound? If so, would it be a noticeable improvement in your opinion?

I'll be wiring an Alpine 4 channel to my speakers soon and I want to know if it would be worth the effort to move the crossover and run the extra wires.

in theory yes...but if using the correct gauge wire you can mount em anywhre. my install just happens to place the x-overs directly below the amp.

You won't notice any difference. It's probably easier to have a single wire from the amp being the longer run to each crossover and then wiring the speakers to the xovers.... or ef it, just run active

Yes. 99% of people couldn't tell after being tuned what impact crossover location has on fidelity. You may be part of that 1%. I don't think I am, and I am very picky. I guess I should have explained that a little better.

BTW, it is almost Friday. Lets see how much cash I get from my friend. I have been aching to try the CD7100. Too bad my D6 isn't back yet.
