Grounding

Hey guys, I was trying to hook up my amps today but I could not find a place to would ground the connection. I even went searching with the hotwire looking for sparks and found nothing. It seems like the whole freek'in interior is painted some color or other. Where are your ground wires located?

I have an '03 Max btw.

yeah you definately dont want to be using a hot wire... there are many places in the trunk where there are holes in metal that you could stick a bolt through... just sand down one of those areas real good and mount the ground there.

grounded mine in the spare tire well. sand down to bare metal and secure your ground.

Maybe the fuse for your hotwire is blown. put a bigger fuse in and try it again.

I'm mounting the amp to the back of the rear seat...

If the fuse was blown shouldn't I be able to tell by looking at it?

depending on your amperage of your system , I would suggest you run a 4AG ground from spare trunk area, I have done this in anotherone of my cars. In My 3rd gen I ran my ground in spare tire well. from there use a distribution block for future amp installs. But, dont run a live wire around your trunk to find a ground!!!!

Investing in a ($10) multimeter will be much cheaper than lighting your car up on fire.
