This thread almost got lost

What color wire do I ground again to get my trip button to work again? I forgot to ask my guy who did my audio to ground that wire. I want to say it was the brown wire but I can't remember.

latest build for a friend of mine. two SS RL-i 8's in a 1.35 ft^3 ported tuned to 33 Hz with a 4" aeroport. i love these 8's. they're some beefy little monsters!

putting the port together...

test fit

currently have it in my car til he picks it up. got my arc sending the pair around 800 or so. i'm VERY impressed with their output. it's close to my RLp 15 sealed. SQ is pretty nice as well. it's pretty punchy with rock and stuff, quick with the dance/techno, and drops low with hip hop. i think he'll like it.

so my fawking OEM battery died on me today. guess it's true that 6th gen batteries only last ~2 years. was at walmart when i hopped in the car and turned the key. nothing. just clicks. so i had a jump from a nice gentleman that was parked next to me. got home....and took the meter to the battery. it read a sh*trific 9 volts.

time for a new battery.

sooooooooooo........found out the box for the two RL-i 8's that i was temporarily using scratched the SH*T out of my 1500-XXK. it's a pretty deep scratch...and you can feel a lot of the aluminum is gone. :bandhead: one of the screws on the terminal cup wasn't in all the way, and it just rubbed the corner of the amp.

also...the f*cking arc sub i traded my hertz for...is NOISY! sounds like tinsel slap, but the damn leads are woven into the spider, so it's not that. finished the box today, got everything wired...threw it into the car for a test...and yeah...what a damn mood killer.

to top things off....it's storming down here! not a good weekend....

How's that sound?

I've finally decided to put my old idea in motion, and I'm going with a completely empty trunk. The fiberglass box and sub made my driver side rear sag too much . If not for that I'd stay with it, but alas the new setup will have no amps and no sub in the trunk.

I actually like not having my amps in the trunk. I can jam things in there without worrying about them getting scratched, wet, or overheating. I may still go with a 10" sub a little later. Are you going to go without a sub?

This is my second time around with the Type-X. I really liked it the first time around and finally decided to go back to it. This time I installed it in a enclosure that is a bit bigger. So far I am liking it again . Should sound even better once the stiff suspension is broken in. I think I will be selling my w6 pretty soon.
