The Max is doing great on gas milage right now. The F150, not so much. Premium is $4.29 here now. I am trying to not let it bother me b/c I know it can only get worse.I am currently working on doing the math to see at what price it will be advantagious to buy a beater that gets great milage for wifey.

Not sure what I am looking for yet. The pizza delivery guys all now drive these little hybrid cars. They look like tiny bubbles. Never seen them before. I wonder how they are on gas?

Just for giggles, here is a little something I have been working on. Got a couple of days into it so far.

Two custom made IB 10" AA Havoc's. The rest I will post a little later as I am not 100% sure where everything is going. I am still experimenting a bit.

There are 2 sets of DLS UP6's, one in the kicks and one in the doors powered by a PDX150.4. The Subs will be powered by a PDX1.1000. He also wants to use a full size rim for a spare, it will barely fit. I will make it work though. More pics as things progress.

My beater was financially a great move, $1200 for the car, save $200 on insurance save $120 a month in gas car will have paid for itself in roughly 9 months when I factor in misc driving, and not just commuting. I LOVE this car too, I can see why it has such a huge following.

I enjoy paying $4.23 a gallon and won't let president Bush choose the car I have to drive.

Steels ftw, 13x5.5 170/70/13 tires, $40 a piece!

It's got a d15 DPFI in it. Bish is slow as dirt but I can drive it like I stole it and get 42 mpg with it. So far I'm averaging 44. Best of 46 worst of 42.

Thanks for the info.

That is hella good gas milage! 29 is the best I could get in the Max. That was on a long road trip though. I am sure it is in the low 20's for around town driving.

For highway use we have seen nice numbers averaging the mid to upper 30s in the Odyssey. Great ride with a ton of amenities and space.

lol

nothing particular in mind. whatever i can get a good deal on...im expecting to need at least 4 grand to get a decent used 600, $3500 if im lucky/find something with high mileage.

my system (which is in the process of being installed over the next couple weeks) is still keeping me broke so its not going to be too soon, just gonna start saving soon as much as i can, maybe using side install jobs towards it if i can find some jobs to do. its been super slow lately.

ill get some tomarrow, not at the right computer. Come to RI Kev, we need more good installers.

We originally designed and built a sealed box to fit right in the nose above the pedals for one of the new JL 13.5W5 thin line subs, but when we fired it on it sounded like udder CRAP, no matter how much tweaking. The airspace was a hair small, but damn, it was just awful. So, we used the same box design (new box) and threw in 3 8w3's and that was better, but still not great. So its up in the air right now as far as sub...

As for highs we're using 2 sets of the JL marine 7" components (can be mounted coaxially), a pair in the kicks and a pair behind his head. You'll see how when its finished..

I don't think I could deal with cold again. If RI was warm, maybe. Side work has been slow here lately though.

Ive heard that JLs thin line subs are pretty sweet.

RI is warm right now, this past week has been nice, 80s with slight wind. The winter can get cold and harsh, but more opportunities for side work (starters)...

the w5 is a monster, and only about 3" thick.
