Kappa Perfects: very bright on the tweeter side (good thing to me)

MB Quarts PCE12: I have these, I think they are great, make sure u get a sub though. The voice matches up great with it.

Alpine SPR-17S Type Rs: good for the price, They have alot of thump.

but yeah, those are about $200 a pair. I hope your adding an amp.

i already have a sub. i already have components, too...but they don't satisfy me, so i'm gonna sell them and look for something better. i've had the Alpine type-rs and they're wayy too flat for me....i need my music a bit brighter.

Um they aren't really comparable to mainstream products the components they match up with are much higher in price than whats available mainstream.

yes, they were amped. they were definitely an improvement from the stock bose and better than most people's speakers that i have heard....but being the audiophile i am, i always felt that the tweeters weren't bright enough and there was practically NO midbass. any sort of bass to these speakers would seriously stress them out and i felt that this always threw off my soundstaging.

SLC's have AWESOME midbass and the tweet gets pretty loud... swap'em fo cal25's in the future and you're set.

SLC's for sure. IMHO, one of the best sounding speakers in your price range. I have installed them before, you are sure to love them. And +1 to the cal25 upgrade in the future. Pretty much comparable to the Contours I had.

Cross'em at around 75-80 hz and let'em ****, you'll get gobs of midbass from them.

i believe mine are around 70. If you're careful, you can get plenty of midbass..
