I was wondering will their be much of a difference between
2 JL 12W3's with a RF 500.2 amp
or
2 JL 12W6's with a RF 800.2 amp? The diff I will be paying
between them will be 100$, what would you guys recommend me doing? Please help!

I'm either getting 2 10" JL Audio W3s or 2 12" JL Audio W3's. I think that is enough bass for me (One of my friends has 2 10" W3s and another has 2 12" W3s, so I know what they sound like). The W3s are plently loud enough in my opinion. I never heard the W6s though. Another option to consider is the new W7s that are coming out. They are supposed to be unbelievably loud!

I hope this helps...

well my friend has 2 12"JLW3's and a 600a2 powering them. I have 2 12"JLW6 with the 800a2 powering them. we DID have the same deck also (Pioneer DEH-P8200) and mine sounded wayyyyyy louder and better over all. We both have 4 door cars also and similar boxes. You can really tell. Go all out with the W6 or wait for the W7s!

JL AUDIO 500/1 AMP

Ok Another Question,

I was just talking to someone who told me not to buy a RF amp, I guess of his bad experiences. He told me to buy a JL AUDIO 500/1 amp and hook it up to 2 12W3's D2 or D4. What would you guys recommend me hooking this up to? If I decide to go with the JL 12W6 with a 800.2 amp, would there be enough power at 6 ohms to power this ? How would I connect it up? 800x1 then put it to power the 12W6's @ 6 ohms? I am very new to this stuff, and dont want to buy the wrong things.

If I do go with the 12W3's with a 500.2 amp should I go with a D2 or D4? Would I wire it up at 250 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms? HELP!! I am very confused!

Re: JL AUDIO 500/1 AMP

first off, take the bra off your new car before its too late!!! you'll regret that one. 2 JL w3's are plenty loud in my opinion. already too loud for any good to come of it... you'll be deaf if you need anything louder to drive with... if you just sit with your trunk open, then i cant help you. save the $ and do w3s

12W3's it is, now what amp?

Ok, Decicion is made, I am going with the 12W3's.

Now what version of the 12W3 should I go with since it comes in 3 different flavors (D2, D4, D6) Dual Voice Coil (2, 4, 6 ohms). What should I go with, and what amp should I go with, the 500.2 RF AMP or a 500/1 JL AUDIO AMP? Will the 500.2 RF AMP BE SUFFICE FOR THE 2 SUBS? I can bridge it to do 500 watts and put it to both of the subs but which would I do it to, the D2 or D4's?

Well, I still don't know whether I'm going with 10" or 12" subs, but either way I'm gonna go for the W3s in D4.

I'm going to use the JL Audio 500/1 Amplifier to power these subs. This amp is PERFECT for these subs. Since each sub handles 250 watts continuously and the JL 500/1 amp produces 500 watts, it is a perfect setup!

and one more post to hit 100!! what happens now?? but i would still stick with W3s, if you were going to spend more $, wait for the w7s... (that means buy the W3s now)

The JL Audio 500/1 produces 551 watts.

go with D4s

This will give you the optimum final ohm load of 4 ohms at the amp, and it gives you flexibility in the future, if you want to sell one, etc. It doesn't matter which ones you get if you get the JL amp, because they make the same power at virtually any ohm load, unlike most all other amps.

Hope this has helped.

If money is not an issue, go with the w6's. You will not be dissappointed.

I would get the 500/1 because it will have a much cleaner sound that the RF Punch series. As far as the subs are concerned, I would get the W3s now since they are some very wicked subs.
