Amp Wiring and Dash question

Had a few questions regarding wiring and dash assembly for the fifth gen. Does anyone know of an online guide for dash dissasembly. Has anybody posted any how to's for installing a HU in a fifth gen.... (actually I just need to get in behind the HU to plug in the RCA's). I haven't really poked around alot cause I'm cramped for time with school and work.

Second Question: Where did you run the wires for your amp? I've installed my own amps before in other vehicles but I was wondering if there was an existing pass through in the firewall of the 5th gen. If I do have to drill.... where would you suggest drilling? I'll be running 4 gauge wire to the trunk. After looking at prices in the area I decide I didn't want to spend $$$ on the amp installation (effin earmark tried to slate 5 hours for the job), andI know what I'm doing but My max isn't the junker of a car I did my other installs in and well I care . Thanks in advance..

to my knowledge there is not plugs in the firewall you can use on the 5th gens. I have installed a few systems in 5th gebs down at the shop and i usually use the clutch plate as my drilling spot on the firewall. Look for a rubber tap behind the brake pedal area. You will see a round circle imprinted on the firewall. Thats gonna be your spot to drill.

As for dash dissasembly, i belive there is two screws at the bottom of the dash and the rest just unclips. Becareful around the vent area, they can be very hard to pull off.

Thanks.... After amps and subs comes "getting rid of rattles". I'm sure there'll be quite a few. From what I can gather I'll have to make brackets for the front and rear door speakers. I'll let everyone know how it when when I finally get around to it. I've got an MTX rt 2600, 2400, and a sony xm 75 amp and a T610x3 box sitting in the house just begging to be installed. I'm gonna buy the rest of the supplies this weekend ( distributor block fuses, rca cables, speaker wire, screws). But I probably won't get anything done till Schools out.....

Thanks again for the info. Sometime soon I'll be setting up XM radio in the car as well, I'll post what I think when I can..... Working full time and going to school full time takes a lot out of ya. Thanks again.
