How big of an amp should I get to power a 10w0? I was thinking about bridging 160 watts from a Fosgate 160.2. Is this enough?

Yes...plenty enough of power...it's easier to blow a sub if you underdrive it than over-powering it...

FYI

Yo, Dave.

I called my nearest Tweeter (Orland Park) and they do not have their Auto Sound section set up yet. However, they referred me to the Oak Brook store. The prices for installation are as follows:

Front Speakers: $30 (Pretty much a straight drop in)
Rear Speakers: $50 (They would have to do some cutting)

Let me know what happens...what do you think about SWEETSOUND2001 selling car audio to your fellow brothers and sisters here on Maxima.org?

Dave,

I know I am driving you up a tree with speaker questions and pricing but I am seriously thinking of putting the 5.25" up front. What is the model number and how much does it run?

Isn't there a d/a converter or some kind of outboard processor for this unit?

Maximadave is da man.....no one can replace him.

Dave, I'm thinking about running my 6 door speakers with a clean 40 - 60 watts of power. What are your (and the group's) thoughts on running each speaker of a mono, bridged output of a small amp versus buying a couple of 4 channel amps or something. I can't make up my mind yet whether to run 2 10s in the rear corners of the trunk vs. 2 10s or 1 12 in the spare tire well....I really like the idea of dumping the limp home tire to save weight and use space without killing trunk capacity.....Your thoughts please...Oh yeah, tell me some good news about my 8500 shipment...is in on the road?
Thanks again, you're da man!

Due to the fact yesterday was a holiday with no mail...it got sent out today...reply to this post when you receive it which should be by the end of the week...

Use a 4channel amp to run your speakers front and back and a seperate amp for your subs........or if you want to save space (last resort)use a 5 channel amp..use the amp in stereo not mono

Sorry they do not come with an adapter plate...you'll have to cut or custom make a plate out of abs plastic to make it work...

How much are the JL Audio VR 525 and VR 600 or TR690?

The reason I am asking is that the TR525 does come with an adapter plate.

I think I'll go with the Eclipse. Good speaker and not too expensive.
Eventually, I will put a JL Audio 300.4 Amp and an Eclipse 5083 CD Changer in the car.

Speakers, T.V.'s

Dave,
I am looking into getting some speakers for the front and rear. Right now I have the stock bose system with 3 JL W3 subs and 1 RF 800 amp. I need your opinion on what speakers has the best sound. Also I want to konw what kind of deals you have on in-dash t.v.'s? Hook me up with some prices on the speakers and the t.v.'s.

Thanks

KVT910DVD is my best seller. Maxima.org price is $2275.00...it lists for $2800.00. It has a 6.5" monitor in dash with CD/DVD player all in one! TV tuner so you never miss an episode of Days of Our Lives and you can touch the screen to do all functions like volume, bass and treble adjustments and so on.

I personally have the Eclipse Point Source 89640 6" speakers front and back and they are extremely clean. They retail for $230.00 per pair Maxima.org price is $175.00 a pair. Boston Acoustics makes some good sounding speakers as well look into the PRO 6.5's for the front and RM6's for the rear. I had this setup in my previous car. Click on my homepage for details on my Maxima set up. Let me know what you think.

Sure no problem...Sweetsound2001 and Whitemax use this stuff called Rammatt. It is similar to Dynamat but alot cheaper. I personally have not heard about the brand but according to them its good. PM them for pricing and availability.
