Where is a cheap place to buy Q-Logic boxes?

I need to buy a small sealed or medium ported Q-Logic box. I don't want to go through the hassle of building one. Crutchfield is legendary for their high prices, so is there some other place that has a good deal on them?

Maximadave, I know from previous posts, that you were once selling car audio equipment and have a great knowledge on this stuff.

I definately want a Type 1 or 2 Q-Logic box. However, I still can't decide whether to go with sealed or ported. I still have to make the woofer purchase and would like your opinion. I will be using a 4 channel amp with 2 channels driving the fronts, and the rear channels bridged for the 1 sub (I think its like 200 watts bridged).

Also, if I went with the ported box, do I still have to make the hole or does Q-Logic already does at the factory?

I have a type 2 Q box, it comes with prefab ports but they are sealed, i wired and tested one of them sealed to see if i liked the way it hit, i recommend you do the same, then if you don't you can literally pop out the port seals, tube it and you're good to go.

To get the best sound have a custom box built for your specific subwoofer(s). Pre-fab boxes don't always work for all subs on the market. Custom box with say 1 10" sub normally goes for around $125.00-$175.00 depending on the shop. I personally am not a fan of Q-logic boxes. JL requires different air space than say a Rockford 10" sub and they dont sound all that great in a Q-Logic box. It's up to you. In my personal preference I like sealed boxes. The bass response is tighter, makes the woofer handle more power compared to a ported, bandpass enclosure where you get alot of boomy bass or sloppy bass response, the woofer is more effecient but does not handle as much power as if it was in a sealed box. Best thing to do is go to your local car audio shops and listen to all the boxes they have to offer and make your own decision there. Good luck,
