Ok for my headunit I'm going with the Alpine CDA-7965.
I was thinking of getting the Alpine DDC-F17C component system up front and the SPR-175A component system in back and powering them with the Alpine MRV-F407 4 way amp.(40x4 RMS) Is there any disadvantages to having two component systems? For bass I'm getting the Alpine MRV-1507 amp (300x2 RMS)to run two JL Audio 15W6's in a sealed box. I heard this amp running these subs and WOW its awesome! All cables and wiring will be by Monster Cable. Please post any suggestions/comments.

Thanks!

You don't need separates for rear fill, and for best SQ, you should put all of the amp power to the front stage and just run the rear fill with HU power. But it depends on what you want it to sound like.

Well...

I love Alpine's head units and amps, not so thrilled with their speakers. I think thre are better out there for around the same price....

As Micah said, you'll want more power to your fronts especially.. with that much power to the subs, you'll drown out your mids and highs very easily.
I'm running 500W up front and 600W to my subs, and the subs just barely out play the mids and highs when I crank it up.. if I leave the subs at a "normal" level, I can crank it up to ear-bleeding levels, and everything is balanced..

soooo, I'd say get an amp with at least 100w/ch for up front, then the 40 w would be okay in the back... but then you could just run deck power and be okay there.

I'll second the so-so opinion on the Alpine speakers.

While I've had good experience with their electronics (see list) I was never terribly impressed with their speakers. This pretty much goes any of the Japaneese produced speakers though! I like my Polk DX gear, and the Infinity Reference stuff it replaced wasn't that bad. If you can spring for it MB Quart is also excellent.

If you need any tips on install or Alpine gear lemme know via e-mail.

Polk dx3065 components
Polk dx6 coaxials
JL Audio 10W3
Alpine MRV-T707 X 2
Alpine MRV-F303
Alpine CHA-1214
Alpine 3DA-W882 (3 disc changer/tape deck/eq headunit, pimptastic my friends say!)

Strangely enough, it's my last name. And no D'augustino (founder of Krell electronics) wouldn't give me a price break on any of his gear. So I bought a Classe amp and pre-amp instead! The car audio stuff is actual last fiddle to my seperate Hi-fi 2 channel and home theater systems.

My two cents:

I've got Kappa 5 1/4 components in the front, and 6x9s in the back with a 250 watt RF amp to the front. Right now the 6x9s are running off the head, but the front is so rediculously loud that I'm going to have to buy an amp for the back. Sounds nice, though...

I don't think components in the back are worth the money, it's only supposed to be rear fill and with the two 15" subs your not going to be able to hear much then. I'd also look into some dynamat, your trunk will rattle with that much bass. I'm not familiar with the head unit, but if it doesn't have seperate preouts with controls for the sub amp then I would recommend getting an external control for the sub amp, that way you can control all the speakers in your system. It's like a seperate volume control just for your subs. I have a cadence 8 band, 1/2 din, EQ with subwoofer controls, that way I can dial in more or less from my subs with out effecting the other speakers.

I agree. I have only a cheap pair of Kenwood dual cone 6 1\2's

Sound great to me. Too many speakers can fight each other instead of work with each other if you aren't careful
