Maxima vandalized, need some help

My car was broken into last week, all audio stuff was stolen (Eclipse AVN, RF Subs, 2 amps), most wires were just chopped off. Climate controls also ripped out. The only thing I got now are the rainbow speakers in the doors

Right now I want to get everything working again on the cheap side (no more crazy subs and dvd navigation) untill I can sell the car. I can't reinstall the stock HU because its broken, and the plugs are gone.

I need a new 1 DIN HU in $200-300 range, Eclipse, Alpine, or Pioneer.
Leaning more towards CD-5100 or CDA-9885/6

A 4 channel amp to power the speakers (SLC and KX rainbows)

About subs - was thinking maybe replacing those Bose 8" once and running them from another amp, but I'm guessing free air once will sounds like crap. So maybe get one of these

bastards took all my CD's and even change

Any advice will help

how old is your eclipse AVN? and WHERE did you purchase it? If it's within a year Eclipse will replace it (depending on when you bought it). Call don @ the number above and he can see if your unit is eligible for a replacement.

Good luck

if you're anything like me, you're only installing a "cheaper" system because you're mad/dissappointed that the last one was stolen.

the last tiem my car got broken into, i went the same route thinking i wasn't gonna ever have a big system in my car again...

yeah. that didn't last. fvck thieves. i just pray that i catch them in action one day. i've got a surprise waiting for them.

Sorry to hear about this. I have been there. You will eventually stop caring and just do whatever you want. It took me a while, but I worked my way back from it. I also suggest going to Don. You will get great prices as he is known to do this with .org members.

Bought it on June 18th 2006, from Crutchfield... more than a year old

I might contact Don if he is not too busy in January and is willing to help.

BTW all my stuff was installed by another .org member djfrestyl. Was a good system meh

You got me there. My first thoughts were, screw this audio stuff, screw the maxima I'm selling everything. Think I've calmed down a bit to make a rational decision :P

Ah, that stinks man. My stuff was pilfered a good while back and It took me a while to get things going again. Still in the process really.

After you get burned by a hoodlum though, it's hard to feel safe again. You can install some lesser stuff in the hopes that if you do get hit again, the loss won't be as great, but you'll always remember your old system, think of how awesome it was and regret on settling for inferior stuff because of your fear.

I don't know if your old stuff was insured, but for peace of mind, perhaps look into getting some additional coverage on your new goods and get what you want. Don't let them win, F the hoodlums!

I know how you feel man. My Maxima was just broken into a month and a half ago. They damaged about $1000 worth of stuff and took about another $1,000 including my Bose. I cannot say that I am over it however it gets better each day. Good luck.

Sorry that this happened to you. Hopefully your insurance company will help you out. I would contact Don as some of the guys have mentioned.
