Sonotube Sub....
Go to any search engine and put in "sonotube" and "subwoofer". Also check out HSUResearch. These tubes are commonly used in the home do it yourself arena, and work well. An added plus is that these are very light in weight. Good luck...

Most all the material out there is about home subs. But the construction methods would be the same for auto use. The sonotube is a tradename for a cardboard tube used as a form to cast concrete columns, and these are available at most concrete companies and some Home Depot/Lowes stores. Just use an auto sub instead of a home sub. Calculate the enclosure volume for the sub you have, as with any shape of enclosure. Sealed enclosures are the easiest generally to build, though ported can be done as well. Also check www.hsuresearch.com as they offer both a premade and kit auto sub, as I recall.
