adding in new speakers

just wondering how aftermarket speakers will sound with the stock deck. I was checking on crutchfield and normally they recommend an adapter to take careof the ohm difference thats outputted and the 4 ohm for most aftermarket speakrs. For the max though they didnt recommend anything...

If it were me, I'd do the HU as well. But if your time and/or budget don't allow, you may be ok depending upon the units you went or are going with.

i dont want to go aftermarket mainly becuse i like the clean oem look. I hate decks sticking out, kinda ruins the interior for me. Bose is 2 ohm, so jsut wondering the impacts and the suffering in sound quality with 4 ohm speakers.

Add a small amp and you can be more than happy with the results.

Sweet! So when I do speakers + an amp with a stock HU, I'll be good to go FTW!

I'm not an audio guru, but with an amp you can go louder and have a crisper/clear sound rather than a crackling ****ty sound when you blast it with a stock system.
