KENWOOD KAC-8101D

Looking to spend under $100.00 bucks for a 1000 watt amp, wanted to know the quality and sound of this amp.

Please tell me what you think or what you feel would be better. I have 2 10inch speakers powered by a Kenwood KDC-990 Radio.

I don't know much about systems, please direct to a good one in your opinion for under 200.00. I'll settle for 800 watts...

Also some good 6.5 for the back.

Thanks....

dude, save your money and buy something mid-range. a decent system will yeild alot more enjoyment than getting a headache with a low end pos.i have a jl 450 watt 6 channel amp and new jl's all around with a new pioneer hu and a alpine e-series sub. i also have serius radio with i-pod and cd with am/fm. ran me around 800.00 to 1,000 for everything. i did get my amp off e-bay used, but you gotta know what your looking at as well. start with a good head unit and then speakers and then an amp with a sub.

plz dont ever include jbl in "budget" lines. JBL makes some of the best amps out there. Given they do have a lower priced line of products, but they also have some extremely HQ products.

i'm not aware of anything jbl makes in a low end myself, i have a speaker ring/ recharger for my i-pod that is unbelievable sound wise. he would'nt be asking about the amp if he had any real money to spend, thats why i told him to save his $$$$$ and buy some better name brand stuff.

I do, I have a kenwood kpc 990 with the ipod hookup.

Also I have 2 10-inch MTX speakers in a box, I think the speakers are 500watt RMS.

I just bought some alpine 6.5 for the front and I got some audiobahn for the back (6.5)

I just need a decent amp, it doesn't have to be 1000 watts but enough to give me a quality system.

mixing and mismatching speakers is fine but personally i would'nt. the stuff you have is ok, i don't like kenwood hu's myself and mtx is allright too basey for me and those best buy speakers don't do it for me. get a quality amp like a jl or something higher up in the $$$$$ scale. if you want to run 500 rms you might want a cap as well.

which one of these brands DOESN'T have high end gear? hifonics maybe...

you have a strange habit of endorsing so-so products as the best thing on 12 volts. he asked for affordable, i delivered.

the companys you stuck jbl in with are no comparison even higher end stuff. And i was unaware that JBL was a "so so product". My BPX1100.1 was one of the best amps Ive ever owned. Perfect balance of SPL and SQ. The only other high end amp that was somewhat close was my Directed 1500d but it was more SPL then SQ. Anything I comment on is based on personal experience with those products or similar ones. I stick by products that i have tried and test.

man, i'm not knocking your taste and i respect that you reccomend what you know from experience. but its just that, your experience. they might have preformed well for you, but they are not "high end". jbl IS in the same category as the other brands listed. does that make them s****y? no, but it is what it is. seems like the op has abandoned this thread, so i'm going to do the same.
