what does the opening look like b/w the seats in the 4th gen? the 5th gen has a really ugly brace, but for a general reference i enclosed a relatively simple enclosure from my old car. It was a sealed enclosure with the amps mounted to the back with a trim piece tidying it up, sounded pretty good too.

you can see the trim piece underneath the amps and the 2 sections of the box

Inside the car without carpet and subs

Bad pic, subs and carpet in, nintendo in the seat back

Bad pic, but that's the trim piece.

Back of the box without the trim piece on

I just want to say that you system is sweet. I wish that they had that kind of set up for a 4 gen max...all I did was just bolt my 2 amps to the box....its not that bad for what it is....

I hope to have most of my trunk done by X-mas but each day that looks less likely. If I can find/borrow a digicam I'll post some pics.

Hey SWEETSOUND2001, do you feel that you get the full impact of both subs firing that way? Just curios because I should have a little spare room left in my trunk. Those infinity's, are they 10's?

those are perfects 12.1 12 inch subs..the impact is very good although im not giving the subs enough power. im currently waiting for my new mtx 1500 watt amp that i will use to run these

I also ordered the 1000D. Thought they were tens because I don't remember the pass through hole being larger than 10" square. I only need one more 8 ohm sub for to drop it to 2 ohms at the amp. But a pair of 4 ohm'ers hooked up in series might work. But I would only have half as much power going to each of them as the other three.

you guys may wanna consider

the power that the big amps will draw. becuase i had to amps in my car and the lights were litteraly almost turning on and off...being a brand new car, i didnt replace the battery yet....one amp was a thousand watts and the other one was 300 watts...

it seemed like my amps were draining way too much power even with a 1farad cap so i just wanted to warn you guys before hand

No. With my Alumapro 15+ farad CAP the only time my lights dim is on power up. My 185 amp alternator also helps a little. I am currntly considering how to add a second alternator for future upgrades.

It's an Ohio Generator rebuilt Ford Delco. Needs slightly custom install but if you are handy with your wrenches and are unafraid of unconnecting the belt and AC compressor it is not a difficult install. OG sells only to dealers but most dealers can get them. Cost roughly half a grand. There's a link on one of these posts to another custom ALternator rebuilld facility . . .
