So I am planning on upgrading my audio in a few weeks and have some issues.

This hu is the digital media reciever. I was thinking of doing this with an external dvd/mp3/cd 1/2 din because this hu does not have a cd player.

This would be the dvd player. This would show info on the external screen I believe.

My issue is that I don't know which setup will be better for listening to radio and ipod. I don't listen to cd's much so the external dvd/cd player would do that when I need it. Also the big issue is that I am going to be buying a microvision screen from a fellow org member but want to know if the screen will work with a regular alpine headunits. What I mean is can I get any visual on the microvision while the alpine is playing my ipod or cd's or anything? or does it only work with a dvd playing? These are the things I need to know before causing which hu to go with. Thanks for your help.

 

Unless you're going to add a PC in your car, it seems like it would be much simpler to get a double-DIN head unit that plays DVDs, like the Alpine IVA-W205. As far as sending video output from the head unit to the microvision, I would imagine that depends on what inputs the microvision has. The Alpine head units only output in composite (yellow RCA) as far as I know. You may want to check the manuals of each item on the Alpine website to make sure.
