For those wondering ... is it reputable?

Yes, made and sold by DEI same company that produces Viper/Python/Clifford.
www.directed.com

Also note the features of the similar unit (Clifford branded) that I more commonly sell..

I'm in this thread. Cause clearly it's already a PW-fest.

But to keep it on topic, this is a good deal.

Now back off topic, Jeff, what are you getting to replace your alarm?

I seriously hope DEI starts making all their alarm/RS (5900, 560xv, etc) combo brain's the same as the LEs.. with the main harness that comes out the top and built in relays, and transponder. Great design, will help for those tight underdashes..

^ That's true, but on the other hand, this thread contains one of the best savings I've seen when it comes to getting what you pay for. For the ones that don't want to drop the cash on fancy and expensive this is a great deal. Get on it before Don runs out.

Shamless plug for pw'ing Don's thread.

Hey now...you didn't even KNOW about this alarm till a couple of days ago.

I've been waiting since BEFORE CES....lol

I got the clifford as that's what don sells...I always like a backup remote so i'll pick up the viper as a back up or primary. Proably going to be like 300 for the remote.

I'm sure I'm going to end up going the Clifford route as well. Ya, I saw it when I went to Directed's site researching some components for a customer.

I want to see the GhostLEDs on the Clifford and Python remotes though.

Hey Don, Just curious what kind of feedback you have on this hornet system. And how do you compare it to other systems? I'm looking into getting a remote start system, but not sure which direction to take; wondering if you could give me some guidance. I was told you were the one to go to.
