Jl Setup

Hey guys, Needed your help on this one ( Audio noob), I finally saved up enough to pick up a JL system and Im planning to buy it myself becuase the local dealer is asking 2300 for everything installed. So far Im in the process of picking up a 13w7, a 1000/1v2 (is there any diffrence between this and the regular 1000/1) and the 13w7 prowedge w7 box. Now as far as installation goes and amp kits which would should I be getting what other things would I need. I plan to get this installed from a shop but I want to use as much jl equipment possible. so please let me know what size amp kit and what other things I will need.

daught. and if you're serious about using JL for whatever reason, the same system can be had for less, too.

Ok So Ive got about 1500-1800ish? I was planning on a 1000/1v2 which goes for about 600 bucks or so and then the 13w7 in the prowedge box which goes for about 700 and then the wire ect so figure around there if you guys have suggestions Im open to them as you can see from my sig what I have now is really not sufficient so something that hits harder and clearer then the Jl for about the same price

im working my way up to 13w7. so far i got the 1000/1 w/ a stinger 0awg wire kit to a stinger cap. the 1000/1 takes 4awg but i will run 2 amps off of the same power wire so i need the 0awg. that was $100-the 4awg costs about $60. now i got it wired to 2 12" audiofonics adf-292 rated at 1000wrms each w/ the amp turned very low and it bumps pertty hard

If you're coming from a set of Sony's and want better, honestly thats not saying much. They are right. A LOT can be found for a lot less and it'll be better. Plus, if you blow that w7 a recone will run $300-400. Do your research. Build your own box to specs. Recommendations:

Amps:
Sundown
Audioque
Digital Designs
Hifonics, Crunch, Autotek (on a budget)

Subs:
Audioque
Alpine Type-R (on a budget)
Digital Designs
Fi Audio
Mach 5 (on a budget)
RE Audio

Here's the rundown. Get a Sundown 1500D for around 300ish. An Audioque HDC3 for $250ish and your wire (1/0 gauge) from Knukonceptz.com 3.25/foot. Build your own box ~50.

There you go, a better setup for about half of your budget. Spend some on a drycell battery and/or a new alternator.

It's the same thing as Autotek or Hifonics. Who do you think owns them? They're all owned by Maxxsonics

Yup, and if you get a DD, please write down your serial number.

I myself am deciding between 2 Type-R's in a ported box against 1 HDC3 in a folded horn.

eh, just do the Rs in a good ported box. no way in hell you can cram a true folded horn into a trunk.

doesn't mean its the same. And neither of the other 2 aforementioned brands are great to begin with. I like the sub brand recommendations though.

So I suppose a Q45 is the same as a Sentra? All Nissan. Or maybe an NSX is an equivalent to a Civic? Eh all Honda must be the same..
