I'm going to be nice and not flame but I doubt you're going to get much of an answer here or on any forum. The only dealer on this board doesn't carry JL, but if you want to stray from JL he can get you some stuff that will blow away JL.

Buy from a local shop if you want them to be there to help you tomorrow, if you want to support your local economy and tax base, and if you want any sort of warranty.

If not, buy online and take your chances.

Id probably rather support a local mom and pop if I were you. There are good and bad sales people/installers everywhere, whether a big box or custom shop, but you're more likely to get better service from a mom and pop because they have a business to protect, whereas Tweeter employees usually wouldn't care about the company or whether you're pissed at their service or not. Plus, Tweeter filed Chapter 11 last year.

i wouldnt say so.... i work at tweeter and we work on commission, the most important thing is to keep the customer happy because that means referall business and repeat business.

I work for a big box store myself, and Ive personally seen that there are good and bad people no matter where you go, my employer included. I dont think a generalization can be made. Typically the people who work in car audio and are on forums are enthusiasts, so theyre going to care about their job, but I've seen plenty of the opposite from both big box and mom and pops.
