Man, i've heard so many negative reviews of amps, are there any out there that people actually LIKE? Especially ones that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Don, do you have any suggestions for the $100-$200 range to power the SLCs?

Pearl96Max 06-03-2008 09:12 PM

I might have something laying around, Ill check in the am. :)

... i found an old Alpine MRV-F407.. at a pawn shop for 80 bucks.. its 150RMS x2 bridged, powering my SLCs and a 500/1 powering a 12W7, and it barely makes my lights dim now (Running 4Ga to the JL, 8Ga to the Alpine) and I have a regular battery, and no Big 3 :P

Barely makes your lights dim..? Perhaps a new alternator is in your future!

Cool, lemme know the details when you get the chance.

I've started preparations for install (bought some MDF for an amp-mounting board w/ some carpeting, bought a distributor block w/ fuses, and bought a set of 8ga terminal connectors, which, ironically, came with a set of tweeters as a free gift lol!)

Tis gonna be schweet.

Note the date of 3.5 years ago. Some things have changed. Although if you feel more comfortable contacting Germany or the US National rep/distributor to confirm you can do that as well. The address and number are on the packages shipped out since it they came directly from them to you. so Im pretty sure they know they were shipped. ;)

Coolsaber57 06-04-2008 11:51 AM

Any word on an amp Don?

Coolsaber57 06-05-2008 09:53 PM

Thanks Don!!!

ICEMAN76 06-11-2008 01:57 PM

One question I have with the install of my Rainbows and iPaul. Will my Bose subwoofer still work or will that have to be disconnected when the amp is installed?? I didn't think about that until sometime today. Thanx.

Thanks Don. I wasn't sure. I'll have to wait a while b4 I get the next amp and Vanadium sub. Which iPaul amp would u suggest for the Van or Profi sub?

According to Don Cmx are no longer available, they are being replaced by another model. So I may decide to save up a bit more and just go with some Dyn 3 ways . Im taking a trip to his house tomorrow to check out his system and order my hu.. this was a long time coming. My Bose hu cd and tape deck no worky. Also for some reason I get no reception for radio stations at all. I must have ruined something when I had the hu apart to do the leds. Anyhow I cant wait to get his hu. But yeah let me know how you make out.

ICEMAN76 06-14-2008 06:08 PM

Damn, wish I had the loot to get the Dyn's myself. Hopefully I'll be content with the CMX's. Can't wait to get the Van or Profi 12".
