rd audio

Saw 1 thread on this, but no real answers. Hard to find info on these things but seems like they are legit. They are made near me in Atlanta, but wanted some of the pros feedback. Im thinking the sonance series.
Thanks

One more question guys: I do have an UDP and was wondering if I need the capacitor or not. One guy who does installs said that it would be worse in my case to have one, but it would make sense to me to have an extra charge or backup so to speak to help. What's you take on this?

From what I gathered that seems to be a good thing but my ears will be the judge of that.

About RD Audio

Every once in a while i good RD Audio to see how its doing, and came across this. I was a rep for RD Audio (won't air out my dirty laundry here as to why im not anymore) but I can give you straight forward answers on it.

None of the products are built in atlanta, however the business is based out of atlanta. The subwoofers are made by SJA Industries is Oxnard, CA (Also know as Atomic Audio) from both domestic and imported parts. Most of these drivers are not carbon copies of Atomic drivers. The orignal Alpha series which can be distinguished by its plastic dustcap with blue trim and bumped back plate, was pretty much a copy of atomic loudspeakers ELE series of subwoofers. However the V.2 (version 2) distinguished by its paper dust cap and rounded back plate is a more unique driver, and actually performs very well ( though quality differs from batch to batch being a hand assembled driver).

The Amplifiers are built by Zenon. A widely used build house, that builds Atomic, Sundown and quite a few other companies amplifiers. These amplifiers are pretty much all copies of each other, though reps all fight about this and claim that their company has better components and the only thing shared between the models is the pcb (printed circuit board). This is simply unproven and any i havent seen a bench test to prove otherwise with any dramatic difference. Atomic Audio has the widest selection and probably the best quality amplifiers out of the lot ( they spend the most money with zenon and are likely to get the highest quality out of the production run).

As for their customer service, though this is purely my opinion, it has gone down. When the company started the owner would always make things right. As it progressed the owner would never warrenty products , always placing the blame on the installer when the products were clearly defective (some products sent in for repair simply disappeared). Shipping became very slow as well. Taking weeks and months to receive product. Products that never came out. And talk behind peoples backs.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I'll try my best to give you an unbiased opinion.
