Wierd Stereo Bose Problem

Okay so i got my car....my stereo functions fine like all the buttons...but when i try to listen to something theres no sound unless i turn the volume up and it just squeaks really loud....what is broken....the headunit...the amps..or something else?

hmm, it sounds like the volume function is ****ed up. Each speaker has its own amp so i heavily doubt that each amp is busted and is the reason why you arent getting any sound. If i were you, disconnect the neg on your batt so the Hu resets, its possible something is just ****ed up inside and needs a reset. I doubt that this will fix it, but it's worth troubleshooting something as simple as that. Take the HU out too, make sure all of the wiring looks stock and non-suspicious as i doubt you know the previous over well if any at all.

If that is all fine, im afraid your HU is busted and it's time for you to go and purchase a new deck, its not worth fixing. If it does come to that, i suggest to hit up the bose HU/speaker replacement thread i built a little bit ago and will answer all of the most common bose questions you could have. If you need more info than that you can hit me up on aim.
